My mother was an amazing woman. I began to tell you more about her but there is so much to say that I could not figure out where to begin.
In her early 50’s she was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s and even through to the end she exhibited true and amazing grace. They told us she would get violent, she never did. They told us she would become fitful, she never did. They told us her personality would change, it never did. She never did any of the things they told us and never changed from the gentle, compassionate woman we knew. She slipped away quietly a little at a time for several years until one day she was gone.
In honor of this remarkable woman Divella Delights will donate 5% of all sales to http://www.alz.org/index.asp
Another charity dear to me is the Fisher House. My daughter is active duty in the US Navy and she graduated Boot Camp just last year. I hope and pray we will never require the services of this foundation but there are many that do each and every day. In honor of her service and all who serve Divella Delights will also donate 5% of all sales to http://www.fisherhouse.org
Thanks to all for your ongoing support.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and remind you to give thanks to someone in uniform today and at every opportunity.

Charities for 2009
Thank you to everyone who purchased from my website in December for the donation to Toys for Tots, we raised $68.00. We also donated over $200.00 in hats to the local hat drive for children and young mothers, thanks so much! Without the sales I could not have purchased the yarn for that project.
Divella Delights has a wide variety of prices in fiber goods and jewelry, a small sample you can see her. Pictured is a plain crocheted bracelet, Turquoise and Carnelian necklace and earrings, woman's hat and scarf set, and a men's hat. I am happy to be challenged with special orders.
I have decided I would select a charity every month of 2009 and donate 10% of all sales from my website to a specific charity.
Each of the websites I have chosen are due to an event or circumstance in my life. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of 52, she is gone now so I want to begin the year with that. With Mother’s Day in May and her birthday in September I have devoted those months to the Alzheimer’s Association as well. She was a gracious lady to the end despite the ravages of that insidious disease. I lost my stepdad to heart disease when he was 47 years old. He was a wonderful man who raised me as his own little princess. My mother and stepmother both fought and survived breast cancer, my father and uncle had lung cancer. My grandmother had Emphysema and has recently died. I have 4 healthy grandchildren and I am so grateful. My daughter has just enlisted in the US Navy. Dogs Deserve Better is wonderful organization that I have volunteered for in the past. I have 2 rescue dogs and a cat. My grandmother who recently passed away had her favorite charity so to honor her I have chosen Christian Children’s Fund.
I want to thank everyone in advance for not only supporting my endeavors and all my crazy design ideas, but the charities we will be able to help together. At the end of every month when I submit the donations I will be listing the amounts in my blog. I will also be happy to e-mail a copy of the receipt to anyone who requests it. I am very excited about it and am anxious to see how much money we can raise.
I wish you all a very healthy and happy year ahead full of love and wonder.
